Post Op Medical Update

Featured Friday, 24 April 2015 12:52

The operation went well it seems.

It took about 4 hours, they knocked me out then put me face down onto a special bed for the op. My head was in a brace with 5 clamp points - I still have big lumps around the head from them!

Full details and deals at: http://mattgranger.com/mhaffmbtp

For details on exactly what they did - see link at top.

I was in intensive care unit overnight then transferred up to the regular ward for another 5 days.

I'd be lying to say I am pain free, but is not as bad as I had expected. Fingers crossed once the stapes are removed, the incision site will be less tender, and easier to sleep on. Currently it varies from a dull ache to a sharp press headache - but if I bump it, then pain surges in.

Thanks again for all of your support!

We had a cat "newie" who had an operation on the outer layer surrounding the brain. His scalp was stapled up for a week or so. As soon as the staples were removed we let him out in the front garden for his afternoon romp and no sooner out the door, he climbed a tree! He went on to live many happy years.
Just to let you now. though, when the staples are removed, avoid trees for awhile.
